What's New in Pip

What we shipped in each Pip release, newest first.

  1. More reliable purchases

Starting a plan is more reliable if the App Store or Play Store is slow, or if you leave Pip while a purchase is still going through.

    • A purchase that finishes a bit late still unlocks your plan
    • Coming back to the app checks whether your plan is already active

    Version 1.3.6

  2. A simpler way to set up Pip

Add your child, check the rules, choose this phone or another, then pick a plan. If you are not ready yet, you can continue later without starting over.

    • Setup now goes child, rules, device, then plan
    • You can leave the plan screen and pick up later

    Version 1.3.5

  3. Faster screens, even offline

Pip now remembers what you last saw, so screens open right away.

    • Screens load instantly from saved data
    • Past chats can be read without internet
    • A small banner shows when you are offline

    Version 1.3.4

  4. Clearer answers from Pip

Pip now stays closer to each helper, keeps replies shorter, and matches your child’s age a bit more carefully. You don’t need to update the app.

    • Homework walks through a step instead of finishing the work
    • Replies stop when the question is answered
    • Age-matched tone is more distinct for younger kids, pre-teens, and teens

  5. A smoother setup

Small changes to the first steps: try Pip, choose a device, then pick a plan.

    • Device choice now comes before plans
    • Small fixes

    Version 1.3.3

  6. Optional alerts when Pip needs you

Get a ping when Pip refuses a request or answers with extra care. The lock screen never shows a name, message, or reason.

    • Choose alerts for refusals, extra-care replies, or both
    • Tap an alert to open Issues and review what happened
    • Alerts are optional. Issues still records everything

    Version 1.3.2

  7. Clearer context when Pip steps in

Issues now distinguishes between requests Pip refused and moments where it answered with extra care because a child may need you.

    • See whether Pip refused a request or answered with extra care
    • Open the chat to read what happened

    Version 1.3.1

  8. Try Pip before creating an account

You can see how Pip works for your family without signing up first. Pairing another device works too.

    • Set your child’s rules and try Pip together, without creating an account
    • Pair another phone or tablet so your child can chat there
    • Safety checks still run on every question and answer
    • Keep using Pip as a family without signing in

    Version 1.3.0

  9. Smoother Pip, plus short videos on the store page

    • Small fixes and polish in the app
    • Short videos on the store listing, if you want to see Pip before you download

    Version 1.2.1

  10. Easier setup, up to your child’s first chat

Fewer steps between opening Pip and a child’s first chat.

    • Add a child, pick a device, and start chatting on this phone or another one
    • Setup waits if you close the app
    • Kids get a short welcome, then their first chat with Pip
    • Quiet hours follow your phone’s timezone
    • You can read messages Pip blocked

    Version 1.2.0

  11. The app is in five languages

English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian. Pip still chats in many languages.

    • The app follows your phone language
    • You can pick a different one in settings

    Version 1.1.1

  12. Pip is here

Parent-managed AI chat for kids, on iOS and Android.

    • You set the rules. Kids join with a short code, no email or password
    • Four helpers, plus open chat
    • Every question and answer is checked
    • Quiet hours and a daily limit
    • You can read every conversation

    Version 1.0.0
